The architecture of the HD-336U allow for a significant increase in horizontal resolution. A prism in the HD-336U camera head splits incoming white light into its R,G, and B components – one wavelength per chip. The full resolution of each chip can be used to increase horizontal resolution to 1000 TV lines (vs 750 TV lines for the HD-210U).
